I’m currently building scientific software for the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Previous work includes Microsoft, freelance, and various internships.
I received my education from The University of Texas at Austin, where I completed a master’s in computer science, and Austin Community College, where I first discovered my love of programming.
I enjoy building high-quality and reliable software and I’m passionate about using technology and technology companies for societal good.
In my spare time, I can be found sailing, tinkering with a ham radio, or in the park with my dog.
I have engineered and maintained a global-scale cloud service while building Microsoft Azure Digital Twins and honed my web app backend experience through work on the Allen Brain Map.
I have designed and implemented a range of systems with experience including work on the Microsoft Windows operating system, building a data system of pipelines and services for the Allen Institute for Brain Science, and designing a secure ubiquitous computing platform for my master’s thesis at UT Austin.
I developed the POCSAG encoding library trusted by the Burning Man Festival for emergency dispatch since 2019. I am also a licensed FCC amateur radio operator and maintain the open source APRS# packet radio project.
I have experience mentoring and coaching at levels from high school students through professionals with programs such as Hunt the Wumpus, InternLink 2020, the Microsoft and Allen Institute internship and new hire programs, and experience as an engineering manager.
